Happy New Year!

On behalf of all staff at Radisson Park School, we wish all of our students, families and friends a healthy and happy 2025!

Looking back at 2024, I want to say just how proud we are of our students, our families, our staff, our community partners, and our school. It is so incredible to work in a place where everyone is working together to help every child be successful, and our students should be so proud of their hard work towards their learning goals. Please take a few minutes to talk with your child each day about school work and celebrate the successes they have already had. It is very important that our children know that schools and families work together, and that we have the same wishes and expectations for every child to be the very best that they can! Then take a deep breath and get ready for the second half of the school year – it will be even busier than the first half!

Report Cards

January will be a busy month, especially with our first report cards available at the end of the month.  Please note that January report cards will be available online through your MyCBE account, printed report cards will NOT be sent home. Attached are the instructions of how to set up a MyCBE Account. You will need your child’s CBE #. If you haven’t set this up and need support please contact the office.

Literacy and Numeracy Assessments

All students from Kindergarten to Grade 3 across Alberta will also be working through the provincial Literacy and Numeracy assessments.

Not only is the information from these assessments helpful in understanding how students across the province are working, it provides information that helps classroom teachers support students at their personal levels of learning. If you would like more information about these assessments or to discuss how your student performed, please reach out to teachers.

Kindergarten Registration

We are also looking forward to registering students for the 2025 Kindergarten program this month! Starting on Monday January 13, 2025, we will begin accepting online Kindergarten registrations for students born in 2020 for fall kindergarten.

Parents can register through MyCBE accounts, under the School Engage tab. As always we can only accept registration for students living within our designated Albert

Park/Radisson Heights communities, and we are currently registering all kindergarten students as half day as we will NOT know if we will have full day kindergarten again until the late spring.

Attendance Heroes

We are excited to once again start up our Attendance Heroes program, which is a way for us to recognize and celebrate students with strong, on-time attendance. Teachers and Admin will be monitoring attendance each month, inviting

students with strong, on-time attendance to spend some fun time together. All attendance heros’ names will also be put into a draw for a family gift as we know that families are critical partners in building healthy attendance habits!

Healthy Hunger Fun Lunch

Our next Healthy Hunger lunch is January 29. Order cut off is January 24. Ensure you have placed your child(s) order(s) online in Healthy Hunger. A Reminder will be sent Tuesday January 14 through School Messenger.

January 31 is a Professional Learning Day

No School for Students.

Thank you for your ongoing support of Radisson Park School, and know that we are looking forward to continuing the hard work and learning in 2025!
