General Health Measures

In all matters of health, CBE takes direction from Alberta Education and Alberta Health Services. Find out how you can reduce the spread and lessen the impact of illness in school communities.

Routine Immunizations

The CBE supports the AHS school-based immunization program.

Attendance Line: 403-777-8070 ext. 1

Please contact the office if your child will be absent or late. For more information about our policies, see our Attendance page.

Illness or Injury

Normally children who are too ill to go outside for lunch recess are too ill to be at school. Their learning capabilities become limited and often, as with a cold, the illness is spread to others. If a student becomes ill at school, parents will be contacted to make arrangements for the child to go home.

Emergency Contact Information

In the interest of the safety of your children, it is very important that the school has up-to-date home/work/cell telephone numbers for parents, guardians and emergency contacts, babysitters or daycares. As changes occur during the year, please contact the school to update this information. Children will not be released to anyone that is not on their contact list.

Medical Concerns

If your child suffers from any type of medical condition that they take medication for or will need assistance to administer medication, please contact the office and we will have you file the appropriate forms. If your child requires medication of any kind to be given at school, you must fill out a medical form. Teachers are not authorized to administer any type of medication without this permission form being completed and signed by the principal.

Lice

There may be times during the school year when we have cases of head lice.

If your child has head lice, please contact the school and let us know. If your child has been exposed to lice at school we will notify you.

As a precaution, we ask all parents to check their child’s head frequently for a few weeks after any exposure. You can find more information on lice from myhealth.alberta.ca.
